Theresa specializes in working with individuals and families with trauma histories, grief and loss, and attachment difficulties. She approaches her work from a depth psychology perspective and works with clients to understand and heal the roots of their pain rather than focusing solely on symptom management. Theresa uses a holistic approach by addressing the body, mind, and underlying intrapersonal and interpersonal systems contributing to current-day struggles.

Education & Prior Work Experience

Theresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a Master of Arts in Family Psychology and a Registered Sandplay Practitioner. She is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Pacifica Graduate University in Depth Psychology with a Specialization in Integrative and Healing Practices. With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field, her background includes working as a therapist, parent coach, and administrator in a variety of therapeutic programs including wilderness, residential, community mental health, and inpatient settings.

Strengths

Theresa is passionate about supporting healthy family systems. In an effort to further her goal of serving families, she completed the Nurturing Parenting Programs® Facilitator training and went on to be a recognized National Nurturing Parenting Programs® Trainer/Consultant. Additionally, she has completed advanced training and consultation in depth-oriented Sandplay, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She specializes in working with youth and families struggling with trauma responses and has received advanced training in Trust Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI), earning Educator status. Drawing from her extensive training and clinical background, Theresa strives to integrate neuropsychology, somatic practices, and attachment-focused principles into her therapeutic process.

Interests

Theresa enjoys spending time with her family, having adventures in nature, and sharing her love for cooking, painting, and experiencing different cultures with her daughter. Having spent many years as an adolescent in Europe, she is passionate about photography and daydreams of travelling the world.
