Carolyn Brown, MA, LPC

Evoke Therapy Programs Coach

Carolyn takes a collaborative and empathic approach to supporting clients on a quest for self-discovery and healing. As a curious and active listener, Carolyn helps her clients to experience new ways of relating to their thoughts and emotions, offering a space of compassion and non-judgment to learn and grow. She believes individuals are the experts of their own life, and her personal commitment to doing her own inner-work informs her practice.

Education and Prior Work Experience

Carolyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Science in Community Counseling with certification and advanced training in addictions treatment. She is currently enrolled in a multi-year advanced training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), specializing in an integrative approach to working with trauma and attachment. After going through her own journey as a parent with a child in crisis, Carolyn began working in the mental health field as a family coach. She then moved into transition services where she was focused on supporting families when adolescents return home after treatment.

Strengths

Many of Carolyn’s strengths are drawn from her own life experience and healing journey. As an alumni of an Evoke Finding You Intensive, Carolyn brings a unique perspective to helping clients move through a personal growth process. Her skill lies in a capacity to connect with others, to help clients build self-awareness, confidence, and clarity in finding their own inner-truths. Carolyn’s nonjudgmental style and a personal warmth helps clients feel comfortable to look inward and to take practical steps toward meaningful change.

Interests

Carolyn likes to spend her time outdoors being active hiking, biking, and gardening. She enjoys cooking, reading historical fiction, and pickling vegetables. She and her partner are currently navigating the exciting possibilities of empty nesting. She volunteers for Safe Families for Children, and loves to dream about her next travel adventure.
