Deeply rooted in his own healing and unique journey, Austin believes that healing begins by meeting another where they’re truly at. Accepting, honoring, and understanding them and their journey, both their light and darkness. Believing in the innate wisdom and potential of each person. Austin uses his skills and sensibilities to craft a unique space to support the individual in unlocking their own potential. Fostering growth, discovery, and clarity about their truth, what’s authentic to them.

Education & Prior Work Experience

Austin is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical and Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. His professional journey was set into motion during a pre-orientation trip at University of San Diego. There Austin was exposed to the power of the wilderness and authentic human connection to heal, challenge, and transform us. He went on to become a guide for this program and started facilitating the same experience that transformed his life. During his time at university, Austin developed a project focused on fostering human connection with people around the world on a program called Semester at Sea. He facilitated group and individual experiences of deep human connection with people in more than eight countries. After graduating from University of San Diego with a B.A in Psychology, Austin found the perfect merging of his two passions at Evoke. He spent more than two years working in the wilderness as a field guide, leaving the field as a mentor-level instructor.

Following his passion for psychology and healing practices, Austin became a Clinical Assistant for Evoke Intensives and a Pursuits Guide for Evoke Pursuits. Further, he became a certified Family Peer Support Specialist working with Odyssey House, helping develop a new program and position. In this position, Austin specializes in supporting the whole family system, both teens and parents, through individually tailored sessions. He provides therapeutic support, resources, and coaching to his diverse clientele. 

Strengths

Through abilities developed in the field, his own healing, and years of mindfulness training, Austin attunes to his participants with deep listening and a compassionate presence. His creativity, playfulness, and experiences from his own journey, help him craft a unique space to support the individual in tapping into their own innate wisdom and potential. A deep commitment to his own path keeps Austin fresh with new ideas and practices. Which he applies in his own life and serves as a basis for him to show up uniquely and spontaneously with each individual he’s working with.

Interests

Austin's passion for his work carries out of the office too. He has a deep relationship with his Grandma, who is his go-to therapeutic, spiritual, and personal support. Austin cares deeply about his relationships. He loves spending quality time with friends and building community in his life. He brings play into his life, honoring his inner child, through dance and playful connections with others. His adventurous spirit and a deep reverence for the outdoors has him exploring the wilderness and the world whenever he can.
