Education & Prior Work Experience
Travis is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and advanced certification in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. His background includes working as a psychotherapist and program administrator in a variety of settings including wilderness, residential, outpatient, and young adult transitional living. With almost 20 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families in treatment, Travis’ therapeutic approach is inspired by the stories and insight of hundreds of families and individuals that he has engaged with as a therapist, parent specialist, and group facilitator.
Strengths
He has completed advanced training and consultation in expressive art, depth-oriented sandtray, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He has published articles and presented at national conferences on topics related to parenting and identity development, interpersonal neurobiology, and nature-informed treatment. Through his varied education and work experiences, Travis has made a positive impact on the lives of many young people and families, and he has contributed to improving the quality of care in therapeutic and experiential-based programs across the country.
Interests
Travis enjoys being active and is often looking for opportunities to explore the natural world with his wife and two children. He is an avid master gardener and loves to daydream about garden projects. In his spare time, he enjoys playing musical instruments, exploring backcountry trails, and planning the next family adventure.
