Lauren Roberts, MS, LPC

Lead Therapist at Evoke Therapy Intensives

Lauren’s approach to therapy is diverse and individualized to best meet the needs of each person. Her approach to therapy is similar to her approach to life — straightforward and compassionate. Lauren’s strength lies in creating a safe environment where one can explore underlying patterns and insecurities and begin to live out of a place of healing.

Education & Prior Work Experience

Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. Lauren has been working in the mental health field since 2005 in a variety of therapeutic roles. She worked with both adolescents and young adults at Evoke Entrada in southern Utah for nine years. She began as a field instructor then moved into an assistant therapist role working with a variety of wilderness therapists while obtaining her master's degree. She began her own group as a primary therapist in 2010. In 2014, Lauren decided to move her family to Bend, OR. While in Bend, Lauren has worked in private practice and as a parent specialist for a therapeutic program. Lauren was drawn back to Evoke as a wilderness therapist because she believes the power of the wilderness can be profound in creating change. She worked with young adults at Evoke Cascades from 2017 to 2021. Lauren is currently an Evoke Coach and Intensives Therapist where she is focused on providing customized treatment options for young people and their families throughout the country.

Strengths

As someone committed to the practice of yoga and mindfulness in her personal life, Lauren maintains a mind-body wellness approach. This approach is rooted in the belief that the body is a powerful container that holds and manifests past experiences. Lauren’s approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and attachment theory. In addition, she uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies, existential therapy, solution-focused approaches, and trauma work. Lauren is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR utilizes psychological exposure, cognitive behavioral therapy, some grounding, and centering techniques, and involves stimulating the two hemispheres of the brain simultaneously in order to integrate information linked through memories.

Interests

Lauren likes to spend her time outdoors, being active through biking, running, hiking, and swimming. She also loves to read, sit in the sun, and keeps a yoga practice that she brings to her work. She especially enjoys spending time with her partner and two children and exploring the natural beauty the Northwest has to offer.
