Ky has been journeying around in the desert of the Southwest for the last 10 years or so working at various behavioral health and therapeutic programs. As a former student of a Wilderness Therapy program, Ky offers a unique perspective to the clients that he interacts with and enjoys assisting others on their path to self-discovery. Ky has spent the last 3 and a half years working at Evoke at Entrada's Wilderness Therapy Program where he spent a year in the field as a Direct Care Staff and the other 2 and a half years in the Logistics Department, bringing new students into the program and providing support to the field. Ky’s favorite part about working in this capacity was being able to set the students up for success and ease their minds about the intense journey that they were about to embark on.
As the Host of Evoke’s Summit Lodge, Ky is tasked with providing Intensive attendees a safe and nourishing place to dive into themselves and begin the process of healing both physically and emotionally. His responsibilities extend from caring for the Lodge itself to planning a wholesome and well-rounded diet and cooking all the meals for the duration of the Intensives. Ky also has the opportunity to facilitate daily morning meditations, participate in the Therapeutic process, and assist the Intensive facilitators in providing the Lodge’s evening programming.
In his life at home, Ky enjoys woodworking, working in his backyard with his wife, hiking with his daughter, and watching a good movie with his family and pets. Ky finds fulfillment in helping others along their path in this life, cooking a good meal, and living each day as a new and exciting opportunity to grow in knowledge and experience.
