Senior Field Instructor
As someone who has been through wilderness therapy and overcome the struggles of mental health and substance use disorder, Todd can empathize with Evoke students on a personal level. He appreciates working with participants one-on-one and building a strong community within the group. He believes in holding firm boundaries from a place of care and empowering the students in their process. He also believes in the power of having fun and brings out games to the field every week. Todd’s favorite part of this job is connecting with students and watching them become their most fearless and authentic selves.
Todd grew up in the Bay Area and attended undergrad at the University of San Francisco where he studied social entrepreneurship. He had a passion for helping people overcome the struggles that he had faced so he started a residential recovery program for college students who were trying to learn how to navigate college in recovery. After graduating, Todd spent time traveling the world backpacking through countries like Cuba, Africa, Brazil, and his favorite of all, New Zealand. After spending six months on the trails of New Zealand, it was time to fulfill the goal he had set as a 17-year-old in wilderness therapy of one day returning to be a Field Instructor.
Off shift, Todd enjoys meditation, yoga, and taking his trailer to as many national parks as he can with his partner.
