Field Director at Cascades
As the Field Director at Evoke Cascades, Ben supports the development of field instructors, assures compliance with policies and procedures, oversees risk management of the field department, and works with other departments to provide participants with a high standard of care.
Ben grew up in Wisconsin and was actively involved in the outdoors from a young age. He participated in Boy Scouts where he worked at a National Youth Leadership Training camp and achieved the Eagle rank. He graduated from St. Olaf College and spent a couple seasons guiding backpacking, rafting, and canoeing expeditions in Alaska. While working with youth in Alaska, Ben longed for a better platform to address the issues that participants were facing. Enter Wilderness Therapy. Ben moved to Bend to work as a Field Instructor at Evoke Cascades where he found a plethora of tools and communication styles that changed his life.
Outside of work, Ben is often found outdoors. He enjoys climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, running with his dog Cedar, and photographing his adventures.
