Guillermo started exploring the outdoors in his home state of New Jersey, hiking on local trails as well as the Appalachian Trail. Guillermo earned a Bachelor of Labor Studies and Human Resources at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After university he left his home state and headed west in pursuit of more wild places. Living out of his car for a few months he explored the Rocky Mountains by hiking, running trail races, and volunteering at organic farms.
Since university, Guillermo has worked in the outdoor industry doing various types of jobs. His outdoor work led him to kayak guiding, cave guiding, outdoor education, and finally wilderness therapy at Evoke Entrada. Guillermo started his work at Evoke as a Field Instructor before shifting over to the Operations Team. Today, Guillermo is still able to spend time outdoors working on the operations side of things at Evoke. He gets to be in the field area most days of the week!
Guillermo was born in Paraguay and raised in a farming community. His favorite activities growing up included playing soccer with his three older brothers, fishing, and building toys out of clay. He is proud to have grown up without much technology as it allowed him and his brothers to appreciate the outside world. While not at work Guillermo spends his time hiking, rock climbing, carving spoons, and camping.
