Austin has always had a love of the outdoors. Growing up in California, he spent most of his weekends and school holidays going camping and fishing with his father. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Finance from Arizona State University he decided the office wasn’t going to suit him. He signed up for an Outdoor Educator semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School in the Rocky Mountains. During that time he honed his skills in winter camping, backcountry skiing, first aid, and rock climbing. From there he knew he wanted to share his passion for the outdoors with others in a safe and educational environment. He views Wilderness Therapy as the ideal medium for others to work on their mental and physical health in a dynamic space.
For the last three years, Austin has spent his winters ski patrolling across the state of Utah. During the summers, he has spent time working as a Field Instructor at Evoke and managing a hot springs retreat center in rural southeastern Idaho. Austin now brings the knowledge he has gained through his time as a Field Instructor to the Operations Department to continue to support the clients he works with in a different capacity.
On his off time he enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, and hanging out near the water.
