Kate
Field Director and Assistant Program Director at Entrada
As the Field Director at Evoke Entrada, Kate oversees the risk management of the field department, assures compliance with policies and procedures, supports program philosophies and development, and works with other departments to provide participants with a high standard of care. Kate was a senior field guide at Entrada and another wilderness therapy program for three years. Working in wilderness therapy was a transformative experience for Kate and she finds meaning in engaging with field guides and supporting their personal development through coaching and feedback. She values the confidence-building challenges and opportunity for connection that the wilderness therapy setting presents for both guides and participants.
With many years of experience in the outdoor education and therapy fields, Kate brings authenticity, confidence, and a sense of humor to her role. Kate worked as a mentor and staff coordinator at an individualized treatment program for adults for six years prior to returning to Entrada. She has led hiking, backpacking, and mountaineering trips at summer camps and outdoor programs. She has also facilitated team-building and high and low ropes course initiatives for youth and adults in California, Maine, Virginia, and the Bahamas. Kate loves providing the opportunity for empowerment, mindfulness, and fun in the wilderness setting.
Kate has a bachelor’s degree in corporate communication. Kate's personal adventures have included bicycle touring cross-country and exploring many of the Southwest’s slot canyons. She likes spending time in the desert being active, cooking and eating delicious food, and reading library books.
